One day, many years ago, a doctor told me that I would never walk again. I did not believe it then, and I do not believe it now.
Nineteen years ago, I suffered a spinal cord injury and became paralyzed. Ever since that day I keep asking myself: “When am I going to walk again?” I knew I would walk again, I just had to find a way. My way was and still is the American and Canadian Spinal Research Organizations (ASRO/CSRO).
Thanks to thousands of people in North America, who provided financial support for SCI research, it is no longer a question of IF a cure for paralysis will be discovered, but instead, a question of WHEN. As a result, the CSRO has brought about many promising scientific discoveries.
Everyday we are getting closer to finding a cure, which will make our dreams of walking come true. With your help that dream will become a reality sooner.
I am a believer that I will walk again. I am also a dreamer. As Chairman of the CSRO, I invite you to help my dream and a dream of thousands of others with spinal cord injuries come true. ….more
I dare you to dream with me!
